This paper deals with a new idea and architecture for the virtual collaborative design scheme. The new idea is to set up a collaborative design system for product's performance, which aims at the best performance of product, uses CSCW as its tools, introduces several performance functions to link up the different parts of work team and the whole scheduling. The main contribution in this idea is the development of performance and efficiency.The architecture of this system adopts Client/Sever form. Severs provide sharing resources, manage program and submit information to clients. Clients refer to experts from different fields and remote sites, under the control of system; they do collaborative work on the same object.In this paper, the characteristics of the system are analyzed in depth, and relevant techniques and principle questions are discussed in detail. Finally, a C-Design system that we have developed based on WEB is described. Its main function modules and their realized schemes were considered, such as, manage module, collaborative module.
