The objective of this research is to establish a visual supporting method for developing sequence controller programs. The method enables the users to verify the behavior of their programs with help of animation.Current sequence controller programming methods have such problems as user-unfriendly programming language and low programmer productivity. Our supporting method will provide solutions to the problems that will lead to a more efficient way of writing a sequence controller program. The supporting method lets users define a target system with software parts seen as icons on monitor and develop a sequence controller program by setting conditions as well as actions of the software parts. This method will be illustrated with examples.
