This paper describes a methodology for applying textures interactively to a 3D object, taking into account its topological features. A user-friendly interface based on this allows the user to evaluate the consequences on the 3D object of manipulating the 2D texture in real time. As a case study, we have applied this methodology to re-create the terra-cotta texture of virtual soldiers from Xian.
