This paper presents the technical and technological concept behind a Personal Information Guide (PIG), with which conventional Internet services for mobile applications can be made available on the basis of Location Based Services (LBS). The concept of the PIG mobile client is first explained taking a brief situation analysis of the state of mobile applications and the resulting requirements as the point of departure. Then the focus is on presenting the PIG server infrastructure, which is based on agent, XML and peer-to-peer technology.
