Abstract: In this paper, a software debugging mechanism for embedded systems is presented. The debugger is a dynamically loadable and linkable module of the operating system. The methodology presented in this paper provides automatic error detection, classification and location capabilities for a set of algorithmic errors. An example implementation of our approach is given for debugging an integer divide-by-zero error.
