This paper proposes an interactive freeform design modelling system, named FreeSculptor, which comprises 2D constraint-based sketching, advanced 3D modelling and haptic force-feedback devices. FreeSculptor adopts energy-based deformable modelling which allows users to sculpt 3D virtual objects interactively. This research aims to investigate new interaction metaphors for promoting creativity during the design phase.
