DTSCM01The great divide separating industries and companies within an industry is between those who are up shifting to real time supply chains and those who are not. Until today, very few organizations have succeeded in seamlessly integrating all levels of supply chain activities to achieve a quantum leap in business process. The ones that have succeeded are reaping big competitive rewards and offer us a window into netcentric business processes across the supply chain. This paper discusses some of these vanguard organizations and the important insights they provide us into the future. An earlier version of this paper appeared in the Supply Chain Management Review, January/February 2001.
