This paper describes a mechanism to transmit time-critical data with ISO/OSI protocols CLTP/CLNP over low or medium speed subnetworks guaranteeing a fixed transmission bandwidth at the access point. Parallel transmission of non time-critical (normal) data using the protocols TP4/CLNP is scheduled in such a way that the remaining transmission capacity is used but the transmission of time-critical data is not disturbed.
