Satellites and Education: A Case Study on Nilesat in Egypt

In this paper, we propose some possible satellite uses in education with special emphasis on interactive data services such as Digital Data Broadcast and Turbo Internet. The case of Nilesat satellite in Egypt is considered. A contribution to the identification and formulation of the best use of Nilesat to support national education programs in Egypt is given. Different satellite based education applications suitable for the basic education, higher education and continuous education sectors in Egypt are proposed.
