Based on the object-oriented infrastructure CORBA, and according to the reference model RM-ODP, we modify the standardized trader, refining its definition in order to manage resource offers and requests. Resource traders, grouped into a federation, are used to scatter and gather hardware resources, some being offered, and some being requested. Preliminary studies and suitable simulations show us that traders are a good means to scatter and gather resources within an object infrastructure.
