A vast amount of research on learning, multi-agent system, control and teamwork in the robot soccer domain has been conducted, but to our knowledge, there is still no relevant research using software engineering to help the software development for robot soccer players.

It is a complex task to design the software system for robot soccer players since robot soccer players have many requirements to fulfill and many constraints to satisfy. Hardware limitations and constraints must be taken into considerations while designing the software system. The constraints of robot soccer players may be altered between different contests and a robot soccer team may consist of heterogeneous robots which equip multiple devices such as sensors and motors. We take the software design of robot soccer players as a multimedia software engineering problem. In this paper, we introduce the software development of our robot soccer player. We provide some guidelines for those trying to design a software system with similar situations and complexity.
