The properties of FDTD and FETD methods are described and discussed in the paper. The restrictions and the advantages of the methods in sequential form are given. The numerical performance of the distributed implementations of the FDTD and FETD methods is compared. They were tested on PC heterogeneous cluster. Scalability, load balancing and speedup of the methods are discussed.
