Despite the progresses in pulsatile impeller pump and impeller total heart pump, as well as in application of streamlined impeller vane, the best result is achieved by non-pulsatile impeller assist heart pump with straight vane. This paper recalls some important achievements in R&D of artificial heart in past 25 years and shares the authors's experiences withe the readers.
