In this paper, we express the distortion of matching pursuit in terms of MP encoder parameters for uniformly distributed signals and dictionaries. The normalized N dimensional signal f is assumed to be on the surface of a unit N dimensional hypersphere and the Voronoi regions of the dictionary vectors are assumed to be identical. The Voronoi regions are approximated by N - 1 dimensional hyperspheres with the same volume as the surface area of each of the Voronoi regions.
