This paper outlines the rationale and discusses issues related to the development and marketing of a digital educational video game. The concept, theme and design of the game are aimed at topical socioenvironmental issues important to local (Hong Kong) students. This experience illustrates some of the primary challenges in the development and deployment of educational video game software.
