We propose a framework for the design and analysis of asymmetric fingerprinting protocols. By fitting existing approaches within this framework we are able to highlight strategic differences in design techniques. We then illus- trate how the framework can be used to derive new models, which in turn lead to asymmetric fingerprinting schemes with new properties.
