In this paper, an evolutionary-based approach for the outage scheduling of distribution feeders is proposed with considering multiple objectives. Heuristic rules and genetic algorithm (GA) is integrated to guide the evolutionary search for the problem. A straightforward hybrid coding technique is used for the genes in the GA. With the advantage of the hybrid solution, practical constraints are easily considered in the search process. A practical system is simulated to test the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
