A hybrid group key management scheme is proposed in ad hoc networks. The nodes in network are divided into two parties: Cell group and control group. A centralized key management scheme is employed in cell group and a decentralized scheme is employed in control group. An implicitly certified public key approach is used, which reduces the certificate overhead.
