While argumentation tools represent a promising avenue for exploiting the Internet?s vast potential for enabling collective intelligence, they have to date been applied almost exclusively to small-scale, usually centrally facilitated, groups. This paper explores some of the issues and design options involved in supporting large-scale on-line argumentation.
