Abstract: In this paper, an enhanced RSVP refresh timer is introduced to support adaptive and dynamic message delivery for fastness and reliability of seamless multimedia data such as voice. To increase adaptiveness of a network, we suggest a feedback mechanism to improve robustness and a dynamic timer mechanism to reduce signaling overhead. The suggested timer adjusts refreshing time interval in RSVP dynamically using round trip time. With the new mechanism, we could significantly reduce the signaling overhead to maintain soft state in RSVP.
