We present a new technique for content based image retrieval where feature vector to be matched is very much specific to the query image. A particular Peano scan which is optimal in encoding the query image is used to convert the scanning pattern of all database images. Features are derived from these scan converted images to calculate the similarity measure. The features being query specific, a much improved performance is achieved for retrieval purpose.
