In this article, we present an algorithm that selects regions of interest (ROI) containing a tumour, based on the combination of a texture and histogram analysis. The first analysis compares texture features extracted from different regions in an image to the same features extracted from known tumorous regions. The second analysis detects the ROI with two thresholds computed from the histograms of known tumorous masks.
