3D City models have a broad field of applications. One of these is the support of an interdisciplinary, participative planning process. Such a process is the aim of the INTERREG IIIB Project "Virtual Environment Planning Systems" (VEPS). To be able to build a system that integrates different data sources and formats it is necessary to have common interfaces and data standards. In this article some of the modelling, data, and distribution standards for 3D City Models will be discussed.
