As little as five years ago, there was little information available about computer security besides a few print or Web resources. Indeed, last year there were only a handful of computer-security books could be found at most bookstores; those that were there covered little more than cryptography and networking protocols. However, on a recent trip to our corner bookstore, we found Hacking for Dummies and Cryptography for Dummies, proof positive that computer security has hit the mainstream.
