The amount of machine-oriented data on the Web is increasing rapidly as Semantic Web technologies achieve greater up-take. At the same time, the deployment of Grid/Web services is increasing and together they pose a service-discovery problem for users wishing to discover Grid/Web services to perform tasks. We build a portal to discover visualization services and characterize the distance between users? requirement for visualizing data and the advertised capabilities of available visualization services by means of multiple techniques, so that the user can make decision on which services to invoke.
