ForCES brings flexible, programmable, and cost-effective advantages over traditional architectures. According to drafts from ForCES, resources in the forwarding element are described in the form of Logical Function Blocks (LFBs). In this paper, we carry out a detailed study on LFBs. We analyze key technologies including definition and operation of LFBs. Based on these technologies, we construct a ForCES-based router (called ForTER). Experiments on ForTER have demonstrated proposed technologies on LFBs.
