Technical Committee on Real-Time Systems
The TC on Real-Time Systems (TCRTS) addresses hardware and software issues related to the use of computers in real-time data systems, operating systems, processing of acquired data, database management, process control, data acquisition networks, industrial systems, and data communications in both distributed and parallel computing environments. It organizes and sponsors the Real-Time Systems Symposium and other workshops on real-time systems. The TC publishes a quarterly electronic newsletter.

Conferences

28th IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS 2007) 3 - 6 December 2007, Tuscon, Arizona, USA.
Scope of the Conference: RTSS provides a forum for the presentation of high-quality, original research covering all aspects of real-time systems design, analysis, implementation, evaluation, and case-studies. RTSS'07 continues the trend of making RTSS an expansive and inclusive symposium, looking to embrace new and emerging areas of real-time systems research.

14th IEEE Real-Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium (RTAS 2008) 22 - 24 April 2008, St Louis, Missouri, USA.
RTAS 2008 seeks papers describing significant contributions both to the state of the art and the state of the practice in the broad field of embedded and open real-time systems and computing. The scope of RTAS 2008 consists of the traditional core area of real-time and embedded systems infrastructure and theory, as well as three additional areas of special emphasis: embedded applications; development, verification, and debug tools for real-time and embedded systems; and embedded systems hardware/software interaction/co-design.

Magazines

IEEE Software's mission is to build the community of leading and future software practitioners. The magazine delivers reliable, useful, leading-edge software development information to keep engineers and managers abreast of rapid technology change. The authority on translating software theory into practice, the magazine positions itself between pure research and pure practice, transferring ideas, methods, and experiences among researchers and engineers. Peer-reviewed articles, topical interviews, and columns by seasoned practitioners illuminate all aspects of the industry, including process improvement, project management, development tools, software maintenance, Web applications and opportunities, testing, usability, and much more.
